The Hidden Vital Compound in Food That You Are Falling Short Of: A Salvestrol and Nutrition Solution

My diet is fine. I eat healthy and I don’t need to change anything. We all fall in that trap and it becomes a norm. Here comes the 3pm crash and you feel sluggish, exhausted, and focus goes out of the window. Why do I feel like this? More often than not it’s a recurring thing.

You guessed it….your diet is not providing you with the required nutrients it needs to keep up with the demand! And there’s one very important nutrient (phytonutrient) you’re falling short of. And that nutrient is called Salvestrol

What is the difference between diet and nutrition? What does the word “Diet” actually imply?

When we hear the word diet, we automatically think of restricting or even cutting out some of our favourite foods. The word “diet” actually refers to the foods and beverages we consume. But when we focus on “Nutrition”, we open up a whole new conversation, and this is where things get interesting.

When going on a “diet”, we tend to miss out on many essential nutrients we need for normal human physiology. We also miss out on plant-derived compounds (phytonutrients) called Salvestrols.

So, let’s talk about “Nutrition” and “Salvestrols” and how important this is in our daily lives.

What is Nutrition, and why is this important?

Nutrition is the nutrients we get from the food we eat and the effects of these foods on our physiology, with the aim to maintain and/or improve our wellbeing and health.

But it goes beyond this. Proper nutrition is so crucial that it can reduce our risk of developing chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer and strokes. It also plays a role in the healing process after surgery and in getting the common flu or cold.

But here’s the catch. The food today is not produced the same way as 100 years ago, and that has a major impact on nutrient availability.

Production today vs 100 years ago

It’s a no-brainer that food production is completely different today than it was 100 years ago. Food tasted more bitter than now, and plants had time to develop their defence mechanisms to protect them against predation, such as fungal attacks and insects.

In today’s food production, plants are sprayed with pesticides, herbicides and bred to produce sweeter fruits and vegetables to increase their market appeal.

But with this, there are consequences. The amount of Salvestrols in fruits and vegetables is based on the way they’re grown. Organic produce had far more salvestrols than conventionally grown fruits and vegetables.

So with today’s food production, we unfortunately get about 10-20% less salvestrols from the plants we eat compared to 100 years ago.

Consequences of fewer salvestrols in our food

Usually, we see normal healthy cells stop dividing at the end of a natural life cycle and then die. Those cells that have been exposed to free radical damage can start to replicate at abnormal rates, leading to abnormal cell growth that defies the natural cell cycle.

Salvestrols are used in natural cell cycle regulation through their ability to induce apoptosis or programmed cell death of abnormal cells, while having no impact on normal cells.

Because we get about 10-20% less Salvestrols in our foods, we have an increased risk that healthy cells can be exposed to free radical damage and become unhealthy cells. So the natural cell life cycle is being disrupted, and with this disruption, we have an increased risk of developing chronic diseases such as cancer.

How Salvestrols work

Let’s first understand the difference between antioxidants and anti-inflammation.

Antioxidants: They strive to protect our cells from DNA damage, but are ineffective once the damage is done.

Anti-inflammation: Prevents or reduces inflammation in the body.

Abnormal or unhealthy cells express an enzyme called CYP1B1. This enzyme is only found in unhealthy cells and not in healthy cells. Salvestrols act as a healthy cell support, being anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal. Salvestrols are not antioxidants but rather work beyond antioxidants, supporting the elimination of unhealthy/damaged cells.

Salvestrols are natural extracts from the plants through NESEM. NESEM (Naturally, Elicited, Specific, Extracted, Molecules) uses cutting-edge extraction techniques to create food-based supplements of consistent performance and quality.

What does NESEM mean?

Naturally Elicited - Produced naturally in plants as a protection mechanism during their ripening phase in response to challenges in the environment of the plant as it grows i.e., attack by bacteria, virus or pathogens when not sprayed or modified.

Specifically Extracted - A targeted approach using super critical fluid extraction to extract specific molecules from the site of production, typically the skin and pith.

Molecules - Phytonutrients found in high volumes in the pith and skin of ripening fruit or vegetables when attacked by pathogens/bacteria.

How can proper nutrition with Salvestrols help you?

Just because our food supply is low in Salvestrols does not mean that we should avoid eating nutritious, whole foods such as fruit and vegetables. We still need the nutrients and antioxidants from fruit and vegetables to protect our cells from DNA damage. Eating a variety of foods is essential for normal human functioning, energy, and provides essential nutrients.

Eating healthy, nutritious meals, along with other lifestyle modifications such as exercise and sleep, may help prevent chronic diseases. Salvestrol supplementation, along with proper nutrition, may be a key contributor to a preventative approach to any chronic diseases, such as cancer and chronic inflammation. Nutrition with Salvestrol supplementation should not be overlooked for those who are cancer sufferers, as this may be beneficial for any post-treatment side effects.

On a final note, we want to ask you one question. Is taking care of your body and giving it all the nutrients it requires important to you, but you are not sure if you are giving it what it needs?
